Tara is a shy, awkward girl who doesn't have a lot of self-confidence. She believes that she is a demon, and that on her 20th birthday the demon side of her will come to the surface and people will be afraid of her - but it isn't real. She doesn't tell anyone about this fear because she worries she will be outcasted.
While in college, she made a friend Willow Rosenberg, and they bonded on a mutual love and understanding of magic, which may or may not have had more depth to it than that at the point in time that I have taken her from.
